Happy Birthday Sam!! 4/30/2017

Sam, Sam,
You’re quite a man
Lusted after by Grannies
Across the land

Never, ever
A shrinking violet
Grace and humor
Always your pilot

You play our Jamie-
The King of Men
“He’s my Jamie too”
You quietly reprimand

Lemonade maker,
Your glass always half full,
Yet, not afraid
To ever call “bull”

Fast cars,
Back to the Future,
Strawberry porridge
And celebrity suitors

Lover of life
Competitive as hell,
Reckless and contained,
I think you’re swell.

You make your fans
Feel beautiful
You’re dignified
And dutiful

Decent, humble,
with gracious poise,
You can slam one back
And make some noise

Inside and out
You’re a gorgeous hu-man
A role model for others
Is our Sam Heughan

Youth Theater Arts,
MPC and Bloodwise
Cahonas Scotland,
You change lives

Happiest of birthdays
To one hell of a guy,
May 37 treat you well, Sam
Here’s to you, oh aye… ?

  1. Happy birthday, dearest Sam. You will be forever be the Jamie “face” in my DG books. Thanks for being the man of every woman’s dreams. You are truly a magnificent person. Many happy returns to your day!!! And thank you for being YOU!!

    • Also this poem is absolutely wonderful and so true of the recipient!!!! As I said before, thanks for being you!!!!❤️??

  2. Beautifully said Courtney ❤ Sam is certainly 1 of a kind! So gracious and kind to all his fans. HAPPY BIRTHDAY @SamHeughan!

    • Hi All! Glad ppl are enjoying the poem…

Ref the Granny line, it’s tongue in cheek, of course. We ALL have a thing for Jamie (no matter what our age), and a subset of that group (still women of all ages) has a thing for Sam.

The Granny line is creative license- the part that stands out for me- not meant to refer to all fans or insinuate that Sam ONLY has Granny lusters!!

  3. Enjoyed the poem very much. Any way Happy Birthday Sam and may you
    Celebrate many more.
From one of your granny fans in Canada

  4. Well done,Courtney! Dorky, sweet, sexy, and humble, both the poem & the man. Happy birthday, Sam. Wishing you a day filled with love and laughter. Raising a glass in your honor…Slainte! ?????

  6. Just wanted to wish a gorgeous, hunk of a man, a
very very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!. May you have
    many many more.
Also, you are one fine actor. Without “Jamie”
this world would be very sad.

From a loving fan whose nickname is Sam.

  7. Well described, our Sam is such a decent human being. I love his humour, his beautiful smile, and his dedication to fitness and worthy charities. Breathtakng in a kilt, he’s the epitomy of a manly man. Best wishes for a most Happy Birthday. Lifting a dram for you today. Slainte!

  8. Happy birthday Sam and thank you for portraying one of my favorite literary characters with such accuracy and beauty and for being a gracious human being.

  9. Happy Birthday and thank you for giving to we who love the Outlander books, a worthy understanding of the character of Jamie Frazer.

  10. So it is you who wrote this wonderful poem. I hope Sam did see it. I love it and it is so well said.

    Thank you Courtney

  11. Hi, I am not a granny but old enough to be one. I do not lust after Jamie or Sam, although I love the Jamie character. The Jamie character was created by a woman who is the same age as I am and who have lived through all the sexist boring stuff that I have. Women our ages are mostly feminist and brought up sons to be like the Jamie character. Warm and generous and funny and playful. Men who can talk about their feelings and who like the company of women. I think its a bit of a put down to sexualise womens’ response to Jamie, its more complicated than that and its what men do about everything and it takes the fun out of it.

  12. APRIL 30TH IS A GOOD DAY. I WAS BORN ON THIS DAY A FEW YEARS AFTER THE MOST EVIL MAN IN HUMAN HISTORY – ADOLPH HITLER – KILLED HIMSELF TODAY IN 1945 IN A DINGY BERLIN BUNKER. AS ONE WHO GREW UP ON THE KNEES OF THE HOLOCAUST, I AM LIVING TESTAMENT, AS ARE MY CHILDREN AND THEIR CHILDREN, THAT GOOD WILL ALWAYS WIN TRIUMPH OVER EVIL.

    HAVE A GREAT DAY!
