The premiere of The Spy Who Dumped Me happened yesterday in LA, and of course Sam was there; he has been making the press rounds, doing lots of interviews to promote the film’s release. (See release dates around the world here: The Spy Who Dumped Me Release Dates).

Here is an interview with Sam from the red carpet at the premiere…

  1. I just read a review and the writer said: Sam Heughan just had to look capable and be a pretty face. I am so tired of sexist comments about men and women and especially targeted at actors who work hard for their craft. To make an offhanded remark diminishing a good actor, intimating that Sam was hired as the pretty face and not his great acting skills really ticked me off. I, for one, can’t wait to see the film. Thank you Courtney for keeping us up-to-date on all the wonderful Outlander cast and crew.

  2. Karen:

It’s a shame – he really is a wonderful actor – has been passed over for many well-deserved awards and does not get the credit from the critics.

This movie, for what it appears, is a bit “lightweight” for Sam – as we have seen him do much more and take on roles with some girth. I’m thinking maybe he’s hoping this may be a Segway to some other spy role – 007 Maybe??

At any rate, he has fans (like us) who appreciate his talent and wish him much success.

    • Thanks Marlene. I hear what you are saying. The Spy Who Dumped Me is very different than his recent roles, but I think this man is hard working and honorable and worked just as hard and put his all in this film. No one should be diminished and certainly not by an off handed comment. Sam is in a hard and sometimes heartless business and he stands tall among them. And, I think he appreciates his fans and it is very nice to meet another one. Cheers, Karen

  3. Did anybody saw the funny interview at the Premiere where suddenly Sharon Stone appears and Sam turns to look at her and then said “whouah, she is hot” and then blushed? It was so funny. I wish I could find it again.
